It’s every bride’s wish to look amazing on her wedding day from head to toe, and that includes having stunning hair. The style that you rock is going to be real talking point but perfecting that look isn’t just an on-the-day thing; it starts in the lead up. Let’s check out a handful of easy hair care tips for brides-to-be.
Be wary of new products
One of the best bridal hair care tips is to start your regime early and part of that is trying new products, as long as you’re far enough out from the big day. You never know how your hair is going to react to something new. Look out for any products that are heavy in chemicals as they could leave you with problems. It’s best to stick to natural ingredients and always test any new cleaning or styling product on a small area before diving in.
Over-washing your hair can cause issues. Stick to shampooing a maximum of two to three times a week and use a dry shampoo in between if need be. If you over-wash you run the risk of your hair being stripped of its natural oils and drying out. For an added moisture boost it’s a good idea to use a leave-in conditioner when you do wash your hair. If you need more advice and hair care tips click here.
Get to work treating problems early
Whether it’s dryness, split ends, dandruff or any other issue, the earlier you address the problem the better. Deep conditioning with products containing nourishing oils like coconut, avocado or olive can work wonders at bringing natural moisture back. Anti-dandruff shampoos can be your best friend and natural ingredients like ginger can fight the flakes as well. Finally, having regular trims is one of the most important things to do. That way you’ll constantly be getting rid of split and frayed ends, which will boost your hair’s overall health.
Avoid excessive heat
There are two components to this tip: one, be careful in the sun and two, go easy with the styling tools. Over exposure to heat and UV rays from the sun can wreak havoc, so if you’re getting ready in the summer it’s good practice to keep your head covered. In terms of heat from straighteners, tongs and hairdryers, use them sparingly and when you do turn the heat setting down. It might take a little longer in the short term but you’ll be glad you did in the long run.
Eat well for healthy hair
Eating healthily before your wedding can stop breakouts, help you shed those last few pounds and give you the energy you need to get the wedding prep done, and there’s plenty you can add to your diet to boost your hair too. Big quantities of fresh fruit and veg provide a host of nutrients, while nuts, seeds, and fish rich in Omega 3 can play a big part in your hair looking its glossy best.
Follow these simple hair care tips and you’ll be looking your best come the big day!
